Military Experience

From 2014 to 2024, I served in the United States Navy, taking on multiple leadership and technical roles. As a Command Career Counselor (CCC) Assistant, I assisted in career planning, transition counseling, and reenlistment options for over 100 sailors, ensuring their successful career progression. I helped organize and lead Career Development Boards (CDBs) to provide service members with career guidance, educational opportunities, and transition support, while also partnering with Navy Personnel Command to ensure proper career tracking and advocacy. In my role as a Training Petty Officer (TPO), I developed and led training programs focused on career readiness, professional skills, and leadership development. I maintained training records and compliance standards to meet professional development requirements and designed individualized training plans to help sailors achieve specialized qualifications and career advancements.

Additionally, as a Command Master Chief (CMC) Assistant, I played a key role in managing command-wide personnel issues, morale initiatives, and leadership programs. Serving as a liaison between enlisted personnel and command leadership, I addressed concerns and promoted career success while helping coordinate and execute large-scale command initiatives and events that improved unit cohesion and retention rates. My technical expertise was honed as an Electrician’s Mate Nuclear, Third Class (EMN3), where I operated, maintained, and troubleshot power distribution, lighting, and electrical control systems aboard naval vessels. I conducted routine maintenance on generators, switchboards, motors, and electronic control circuits, led electrical safety training programs to reduce equipment failures, and managed emergency electrical restoration efforts to ensure critical systems remained operational during high-stress situations.

Later, as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate, Aircraft Handling (ABH3), I directed aircraft movement, takeoff, and landing operations in fast-paced, high-risk environments. I supervised flight deck teams to ensure mission readiness, safety, and operational efficiency, while also training and leading firefighting and emergency crash response teams to ensure rapid response and safety. Additionally, I coordinated aircraft logistics and movement planning to optimize efficiency in launch and recovery operations. Throughout my service, I developed strong leadership, training, and technical skills that contributed to mission success and the professional growth of my fellow service members.

Volunteer Community Engagement

Throughout my time in the United States Navy and beyond, I have remained deeply committed to community service, public outreach, and veteran support. Over the years, I have dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours to initiatives focused on education, food security, health, and neighborhood development, all with the goal of improving lives and strengthening communities. My unwavering dedication to service was formally recognized with the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM), an honor awarded for exceptional contributions to local communities and military-affiliated organizations.

One of my most impactful volunteer experiences was with Habitat for Humanity ReStore in North Charleston, SC, where I spent countless hours assisting with store operations, organizing donation intake, and managing warehouse logistics to support Habitat’s mission of providing affordable housing solutions. Similarly, I played a leadership role at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia & Eastern Shore, where I led food collection and distribution efforts, organized volunteers, and secured essential donations to help food-insecure families access nutritious meals.

My commitment to neighborhood development extended to my work with the Lafayette Neighborhood Association in Norfolk, VA, where I actively participated in local advocacy, community improvement projects, and grassroots initiatives aimed at creating safer and more connected neighborhoods. Supporting education was also a passion of mine, and I worked closely with local schools such as Elephant’s Fork Elementary PTA, where I volunteered as a dedicated advocate for students, assisting with school programs and increasing parent engagement. Additionally, at Birdneck Elementary in Virginia Beach, VA, I contributed over 100 hours tutoring and assisting students and staff, particularly in literacy and STEM education, to help bridge learning gaps and enhance student success.

Beyond my local community, I also devoted time to mentoring and youth development programs. As a volunteer with Trinity Presbyterian Church Summer Youth Outreach, I mentored young participants, facilitated summer programs, and led activities designed to foster personal growth, leadership skills, and teamwork. My service extended to lifesaving initiatives as well. At NAS Oceana, I played a key role in the DoD Bone Marrow Program (Salute to Life), where I organized and executed a high-impact donor drive event, successfully registering over 200 new bone marrow donors to support patients in need of life-saving transplants.

In addition to my work with human-centered organizations, I have also been actively involved in animal welfare efforts. I have volunteered at various animal shelters in Charleston, SC, assisting with pet adoption events, fostering programs, and shelter maintenance to improve the well-being of animals awaiting their forever homes. My dedication to service extended into an especially personal mission—breast milk donation. From 2018 to 2024, I donated tens of thousands of ounces of breast milk to neonatal care programs, investing countless hours in collection and donation logistics to help provide essential nutrition to infants in need.

Each of these experiences has reinforced my belief in the power of service and the importance of giving back to both military and civilian communities. Whether through education, food security, health initiatives, or direct advocacy, I have continually sought ways to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that my time, skills, and efforts contribute to a greater cause.
