Hi there! I'm Rachel Powell, a 21-year-old from Arlington, Texas. Currently, I'm enrolled at Oral Roberts University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Health and Exercise Science. Alongside my studies, I actively participate in two clubs: The Spot club (which focuses on Speech, Physical, Occupational therapy) and OIL Club (Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislative club). Additionally, I'm engaged in various groups within my youth and Sunday church communities at Victory Church and Christian Chapel.

I thrive on being open-minded and continuously enhancing my work ethic. I have a passion for acquiring new skills, with a penchant for hands-on learning. Collaboration is where I excel, as I work exceptionally well in group settings. My strengths lie in providing patient care and delivering top-notch customer service. Above all, I find joy in encouraging and motivating others.

  • Working for Oral Roberts University Security, I am in charge of traffic flow entering the campus, and directing visitors through the campus.
  • Greet every student and visitor that enters the campus.
  • I transport students and guest to designated locations, on the golf cart that I have been licensed to drive.

  • Student internship at Lotts Physical Therapy was truly an amazing experience. I was able to observe this facility for the span of 1.5 months.
  • A few of the task included, helping to organize patient schedules, consistently cleaning patient tables.
  • Assist with patient evaluation ( taking the blood pressure from time to time).
  • I enjoyed the hands-on approach I was able to get from this experience. As well as the connections that were built not only with the patients, but even with the Physical Therapist, and Physical Therapist Assistants.

  • I was privileged to observe at the Providence Hospital, in the emergency room for a span of two months.
  • A few of the task included, help take patient vitals, shadow ER Nurses and occasionally a few Doctors.
  • Help organize paperwork, and medical files.
  • Restock medical supplies, assist in cleaning patient rooms, as well as transporting culture lab results to the culture department.
  • Overall, this was an amazing experience, great exposure to the medical field. I would reccommed everyone considering any position within the medical field to observe the emergency room, there's a lot of exposure to a variety of task.
