• Provide pre- and post-op care to the pediatric patient requiring anesthesia for various procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopies, colonoscopies, lumbar punctures, incision and drainage, mediport placements and biopsies along with administration of various intravenous (IV) drugs and blood products for treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
• Pre-op: assess patients stability prior to procedure, obtain parental consent, obtain IV access, and administer IV fluids.
• Post-op: monitor patient status including airway maintenance and vital signs, manage pain levels, identify complications following up with prompt corrective action.
• Infusions: administration of various IV medications, fluids, or blood products after obtaining IV access, monitoring vitals signs and watching for adverse reactions.
• Provide discharge teaching for all patients.
• BLS, PALS, APHON, and CPN certified.
