I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the home. I helped care for 14-16 residents on a daily basis. I managed all the current employees in my specific home, I did all the ordering for the home and manage inventory. I make and enforce schedules for the facility as well and evaluating the employees for job performance. I made sure the residents are happy and well cared for. I made sure that their physical needs are met as well as their emotional needs. All the residents I care for are dementia patients and I have loved learning about this disease. It has been challenging yet rewarding.
I received all orders for patients that need to be set up on DME equipment. I create or update their accounts via Cerner, verify all demographic information. I verify insurance and call and receive preauthorization in needed. I dispatch a technician to set patient up with equipment. I request documentation from provider regarding patient encounter for the need for oxygen. If the patient is a Medicare patient in request information to acquire a CMN for patient. If patient doesn't qualify per Medicare guidelines I have to execute an ABN CMN. I also resolve billing questions per patient request and follow up with patient when prescription is expired for the pickup of equipment. I fulfill all clerical duties pertaining to the clinic as well.
