Experienced Oncology nurse working in the Ambulatory setting, specifically in Infusion. My career over the last 30 years has included both inpatient and outpatient nursing. I have been in many different leadership roles here at City of Hope, including Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, and serving as Chair of two Shared Governance Councils. My current role is working in an Ambulatory Infusion Center on the hospital campus. Here, I continue to lead when working in the charge nurse role, serve as a role model to new and existing staff, and assist with projects and performance improvements.
Administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications in an outpatient Infusion center. Provide education to patients regarding their treatment plans, what to expect and how to manage side effects and promote healthy life style.

Developed this position, with the support of nursing leadership, to meet patients unplanned needs. Worked as a liaison between practitioners, infusion charge nurses, pharmacy, and blood bank to ensure patients receive the unplanned and critical administration of transfusions and/or Infusions. Infusions of blood, platelets, hydration, electrolytes, supportive medications as well as antibiotics. Coordinated care for patients by working collaboratively with infusion areas to find appropriate space for care.
Managed two outpatients Infusion areas containing 36 chairs/beds, three patient care clinics where over 30 Doctors and practitioners conducted their visits with patients and performed minor procedures. Staff under my leadership were registered nurses, ambulatory care assistants, and schedulers.
My responsibilities included, staffing, scheduling, hiring, performance evaluations, counseling and coaching, fiscal budget development, performance improvements, developing Physician templates and provide clinic space for their practice, training of staff, and ensuring staff has the tools and training to perform their duties, problem resolution.
