Research and Grant Awards

Recipient of the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (S.A.R.E) grant awarded through the University of Vermont. 


  • Our study Empowering Youth to Cultivate Sustainable Gardens in Low-Income Housing Developments, was conducted on the premises of the Washburn Heights property of the Brockton Housing Authority. We installed a large garden and facilitated hands on learning for both our youth research participants and individuals living in the community housing directly. Through our efforts over 500 pounds of food and 350 bunches of greens were grown and distributed to the residents of Washburn Heights.
