
I am a proactive and committed Paramedic with extensive knowledge and effective decision makings in medical and traumatic emergencies. My interest in EMS first sparked when I joined Woodland Volunteer Fire Department in 2017. During the time that I was in this department I learned and loved the value of team oriented goals and have had a steady passion for it. In 2018 I took my Initial EMT course and became state certified later that year at age 17. I then wanted to further my education and knowledge base; therefore, I began my Paramedic course in 2019 and became a North Carolina Paramedic at age 19. With time I have acquired an expertise in monitoring cardiac conditions and various other medical illnesses, along with formulating and executing treatment plans for patients. My placement of peripheral and intraosseous lines have continuously had an improving success rate as well. I also have an in-depth knowledge of testing, maintaining and using medical and rescue equipment, including but not limited to the Stryker Lucas 3 CPR Device and the modern LifePak 15. I am truly a quick-witted professional, committed to providing patient-focused delivery of care and treatment with safe transportation. I am eager in furthering education as a Paramedic Practitioner and I will continually be as assertive throughout my career.
While in this role I am tasked with practicing paramedicine and providing adequate advanced prehospital care to the citizen's of Dare County. In this position I work along side several groups of people including local fire departments, law enforcement, nurses, doctors and the US Coast Guard. In this role I too have the responsibility of developing treatment plans for my patient's to treat their medical and traumatic emergencies.
While in this role I conduct preliminary examinations of bodies to identify victims, locate signs of trauma and identify factors indicative of the cause death. I also complete toxicology exams and investigations on bodies to gather additional evidence for analysis.
While working for this company I remain in constant communication with patients to continuously maintain care and comfort during transportation. I am entrusted to communicate with medical professionals in medical terms to relay patient needs and maintain accuracy. I evaluate patient vital signs and status to determine the care needed during interfacility transports of high acuity patients. I communicate with treatment center nurses, physician assistants, and doctors to provide information about the patients situation, to arrange reception of victims; and receive instructions for further treatment. I work approximately 12-24 hours here each week.
At this organization that exceeds 4,000 calls annually I am employed full-time and I have the responsibility of providing adequate, Paramedic level, pre-hospital care to all in need in our response area and surrounding counties. I also am responsible in determining medical and safety requirements at emergency scenes by assessing the medical status of ill or injured persons. I also am required to remained up to date with current standards of care, equipment functions, certifications, along with licenses and registrations. I work approximately 36-60 hours each week in this EMS system.
In this county that averages about 4,500 calls a year I had the responsibility of providing adequate prehospital care to all in need. I was responsible in determining medical and safety requirements at emergency scenes by assessing the medical status of ill or injured persons. I was also required to remained up to date with current standards of care, equipment functions, certifications, along with licenses and registrations. My functions were at this organization are limited to those of an Advanced EMT due to it being the highest service level allowed in the county. I work approximately 24-36 hours here a week.
My job consisted of safely transporting patient that were deemed to be in need of medical assistance when traveling from or to destinations. I worked approxiamtely 24-36 hours a week.
While in this role I helped customers complete purchases, locate items and join reward programs to promote loyalty, satisfaction and sales numbers. I was also tasked with processing POS transactions, including checks, cash and credit purchases or refunds. A vital function I had included counting cash in my register drawer at the beginning and end of shift. I worked approximately 29 hours here a week while I was in high school.
While in this position responsibility was undertaken of training newly hired employees on functions and management of the cash register. We as a team were able to manage hundreds of customers a day. I worked approximately 24 hours here a week
