Raewon Kwon

Committed and culturally competent physician with diverse training experience across multiple regions in the U.S. following initial education in Korea. Extensive exposure to patients of various racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on respectful, culturally sensitive care and rapport-building. Trained to manage a broad range of medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with particular interest in continuity of care.

• Journal Club Founder (July/2021)
  • Founded a journal club for healthcare providers geared at dissecting current medical issues and staying up-to-date on new findings and information
  • Organized a virtual meeting every two weeks based upon selected topics
  • Led discussions surrounding various topics and current trends to reinforce critical thinking and peer communication, thus promoting optimum healthcare to patients
• Association of Physicians for Humanism, Seoul, Korea (Dec/2013-Feb/2014)
  • Volunteered at a free health clinic for homeless and disadvantaged populations to promote greater access to healthcare
  • Worked with medical students, pharmacists, and physicians from family medicine, internal medicine and ophthalmology
  • Checked blood pressure, body temperature, and blood glucose levels for patients
  • Triaged patients, obtained patients' history, and checked their medication list before encountering physicians
  • Through this experience, better understood the importance of primary care to prevent severe complications and the importance of government-level support for patients in medical blind spots
