Summary

Proficient Crew Chief ready to take on any task with a hardworking and resourceful mindset. Always looking for ways to improve team and company success.

I have 9 years total as an employee with TXDOT. Six as a crew member and three as a Crew Chief. As a Crew Chief I have been in charge of creating the daily work schedule while working with upper management on a two week look ahead schedule. I have continued to operate light and heavy equipment as needed. I have good working relationships with local county commissioners, city public works departments and local law/police agencies. I work closely with DPS, Fire, and Police on incident management. I also field and assist with complaints from the public as needed. I assist in the inventory checks every month regarding signs, herbicide, and stockpiles. I work closely with other sections throughout the district on equipment needs, such as borrowing and lending. I attend budget meetings monthly and aid in scheduling training for employees. As well as help train new and seasoned employees on equipment, policies, and procedures. During my career with TXDOT I have aided in district wide sealcoat inspections for the past six years. As a sealcoat inspector I have learned about various hot asphalt’s and how to figure rock and shot lengths. Also make sure all traffic control is correct per the Texas MUTCD. I assist in creating the winter weather emergency plan for the section. As a crew chief I have worked closely with upper management to study PMIS maps, such as distress, skid, condition, and ride. These maps assist in locating problem areas throughout the county where repairs are needed.
