• Provides vision and leadership to fall and mid-year orientation programs for first-year and transfer students and parents/families.
• Assists Student Success with summer advising by providing reports of NSO completion.
• Provides oversight in the selection, training, and supervision of Student Orientation Coordinators and 45 Orientation Leaders (OLs).
• Works collaboratively with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Enrollment Management, Dean of Students, and representatives from each division regarding academic and co-curricular support for Orientation.
• Collaborates with Orientation Team including Associate Directors in the Dean of Students Office, Athletics, Student Success Center, Registrar, Admissions , Housing, and others as appropriate to create an environment of support in the seamless transition of new students.
• Designs and updates appropriate orientation materials, i.e., publications, online orientation/resource manuals, etc.
• Works collaboratively with other divisions to establish dates and develop the schedule for summer and mid-year Orientation programs.
• Conducts annual evaluation of orientation programs to determine effectiveness to student learning outcomes.
• Manages all aspects of prospective undergraduate and transfer student activities.
• Collaborates with academic and co-curricular departments to identify and support prospective student programs
• Organizes planning and implementation of major campus events such as Open House. Financial Aid Awareness Month, Admitted Student Day, campus tours, etc.
