Ophthalmic Technician Externship  Norfolk, VA                                                         July 2015 to August 2015

• During my one-month externship I worked closely with COMT certified ophthalmic technicians.
• Performed many different eye-related clinical functions including pre and post cataract operation examination, dry eye tests, and pre and post lasik examinations.

Surgical Rotation

Ophthalmic Surgical Technician    Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, VA        November 2015 to January 2016

• Worked alongside surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses and anesthesiologists during medical procedures
• During surgery passed sterile surgical equipment such as scalpels and forceps to surgeons
• Prepared operating rooms to ensure that all of the equipment needed for the procedure was properly disinfected and assembled
• Passed instruments to the surgeon during 50 plus cataract, 4-trabeculectomy, 2 vitrectomy, 2 blepharoplasty, and corneal transplant surgeries thus far.

Pediatric Rotation
