Raja Chowdhury

For the last 3+ years i have been working in a project that serves more than 1 million users worldwide through an internet facing web portal. This web portal is one of the apex servicing platform for a multitude of products offered in the treasury division of a leading US bank.

The technical work that i carried out so far in this project are -

• Translated business requirements into application design and reviewing the design with the application manager.
• Developed new functionalities, writing unit test cases and doing peer code review.
• Improved performance of application login time by reducing it to 2.5 seconds from 4.5 seconds.
• Worked on various types of login mechanism such as biometric and QR code based login.
• Created tool for processing SAML (security markup language) for federated single sign on. The tool can act as both Identity as well as Service Provider.
• Created a tool for tracking user activities.
• Assisted the development team in resolving roadblocks.
• Liaise with other partner applications in implementing any changes.
• Worked on resolution of vulnerability assessment defects.
• Worked on designing the database model for one of the products.

The project management work that i perform are -

• Manage the application vulnerability assessment process with external testing team and work on associated corrective action plan.
• Liaise and coordinate with the Prod Validation Team for post prod validation before going live.
• Manage the L3 team workflow through Kanban.
• Prepare and Consolidate release plans for various projects.
• Creating documentation for the project wiki using confluence.
• Plan and Conduct governance meeting with Senior management and Stake holders to assess the quality of work and manage, track client expectations.
• Identify Improvement Areas & Innovations in the application related to functional, operational, technology and Infrastructure for better productivity.
• Compile the weekly status report and discuss it with application manager, product manager, senior management and track the discussed action items to closure.
• Track the Risks and Dependencies in book of work for mitigation and ensure timely closure so as to meet business expectations.

For this period of 4 years, i worked as the Tech Lead and Onsite Manager for Treasury product fulfillment for one of the leading banks of USA. This project involved due diligence in the servicing process of the various treasury products such as CashPro online, RDSO (remote deposit Service online), Wire Transfer etc..During this period i engaged in various technical and project management activities.

The Technical work that i did included -

• Requirement Gathering and engaging in Joint application design session.
• Improving Search performance by making long running search operations asynchronous.
• Created a packaging tool using XSDs that reduced testing UAT testing by 30 percent.
• Working on various Proof of concepts for application migration.
• BAU work such as - Development of application functionalities , writing unit test cases , doing peer code review and resolution of defects.
• Developed an API for creating L2 Incident tickets that reduced the Ticket Creation time by more than 50 percent.
• Reduced the code build time by 30 percent by rewriting the ms build scripts.

I also shouldered various project management activities such as -

• Orchestrated and tracked release preparation activities to completion.
• Branching out the release branch and merging the changes to the master branch.
• Doing work effort estimation for BAU Initiatives.
• Level 3 Ticket Resolution and Management.

• During this period of time, I worked as a Technology Lead for a project that involved management of contracts and indirect leases for one of the leading banks of USA. This project was called Vendor Financing.
• I developed the application ground up from scratch along with my team mates. The windows part of the application was developed in WPF and the web part of it was developed using ASP.net MVC
• This project went into production in a record time of 7 months and this was done despite none of the team members having prior knowledge of either WPF or MVC.
• I worked on developing various custom tools using the control Templates and Data Templates.
• I worked on creating the delivery plan for the project and managed the project delivery from Offshore.
• I ensure to do the Code review for the functionalities developed by my team.
• I created the skeleton for the adapter layer using Dapper.net.

• I worked in the capacity of a Technology Analyst and executed the Underwriting Variance project for one of the Leading Banks of US during this period.
• This project was about handling the processing , management and auditing of variance from an assortment of products provided to client.
• In this project, I worked on creating utility to archive production data to archive database.
• I was engaged in regular development of functionalities and BAU defects.
• I developed two visual studio extension to auto update the latest code from the repository.
• I worked to improve the performance of stored procedure by refactoring the queries and removing database triggers.
• I developed a tool that generated code based on database model. This tool reduced development time by 30-40 percent for complex screens
• I took part in refactoring the code using Reshaper.
• I worked on compressing messages for our ASMX webservices. This improved the performance of some of the data intensive screens.

• During this period i worked as the Senior Software Engineer in the Global Wealth & Investment Banking Project for one of the Leading Banks of US.
• This project dealt with monitoring loans provided to the clients in the Private Banking space.
• I worked with my team to develop message queue driven communication between different upstream and downstream applications.
• I worked to create utility to read barcoded and signed PDF documents using Aspose and transformed them into business data.
• I worked on deployment of code across environments using Repliweb.
• I along with my teammates worked on performing Load testing of the application using Loadrunner.
• I worked on Creating high level and low Level design documents for various initiatives.
• I worked resolving database deadlocks and optimized queries by rewriting then and modifying the indexes on the tables.
• I created a task assignment and tracking tool (nicknamed TATOO) for distributing tasks among team members for streamlining our daily work. This led to increase in our productivity and nimble delivery of work packets to onshore.

• During this period i worked as a software engineer in the Global Credit Fulfillment Project for one of the Leading Banks of US.
• This project dealt with underwriting and fulfillment of commercial loans.
• The application did not have categorized logging. I along with another team member developed the configuration driven categorized application logging.
• The application had utility jobs to read flat file data. I was able to enhance performance of these jobs by more than 30 percent.
• I worked on BAU Defects and helped improve the documentation on various interfaces of the application.
• I worked on a proof of concept to migrate the business workflow rules from IBM rules engine to windows workflow foundation (WF).
• I assisted in Peer testing 200 UI screens for various use cases and modules before the prod release of the application.
• I was responsible for sending end of day deliverables to onshore and perform integration testing of items prior to delivery.
