The electronic representation and transformation of digital media has created better conditions for misuse, since copying of digital media is easy and cheap, each copy is exactly identical with the original and distribution of these copies is fast and easy. Therefore owners of digital media need to acquire some form of proof of ownership. Digital watermarks are well-suited to this purpose.
