  • Responsibilities include data modeling, design and development of the database. Performed role of a DBA in creating the database, performance tuning, backup and recovery and building stored procedures. Used DTS to migrate data from multiple data sources to the SQL Server database. Performed the duties of a DBA, Creating Roles, Synonyms, Granting privileges to the end users, managing and monitoring the rollback segments. Tuned the views using Explain Plan Utility to enhance the Response time of the Reports.
  • Working on the migration of UNIX script based ETL processes to using Informatica.
  • The current process involves extracting data from a Teradata data warehouse environment to an Oracle database. The new process was built to access data from a Teradata Data Warehouse. Created schema and data marts. The Oracle database will eventually be migrated to SQL Server Database.
  • Worked on the design and development of the SOAR (Sales Organization Account Relationship) system.

The application gets data from various outside sources (ARC, IATA etc.) and which is loaded after applying Delta business rules.   • Worked on defining the architecture of Orbitz Supplier Link projects.
  • Main responsibility is defining the architecture in working with various teams that are involved to accomplish this task. The goal of the project is to help Orbitz to connect directly to Delta to purchase their tickets instead of using Worldspan which is the practice now. This would help in reducing the costs paid to Worldspan in the process of buying a ticket.
  • Worked on defining the architecture, design and development of Passenger Count Incentive (PCI) project.
  • Responsibilities in this project include defining architecture, data modeling and the development of the incentive processing component. This project has multiple components like processing and summarizing travel data, applying rules for incentives based on contracts and the analysis tools that help the sales agents to create contracts. Most of the backend components were developed in C++.
  • Worked on the solution for the Passenger Sales Hierarchy to implement the business changes in the Reference Data Objects (RDO) system.

  • New Incentives System: Lead team member involved in requirement gathering, design and development of the New Incentives system (NIS). NIS is a re-engineered incentives processing system of Delta Airlines that deals with the travel agencies’ performance and payments. The system processes and analyzes 60 million bookings, 20 million flown in around 550000 markets per quarter. Worked on the database design and modeling for the system. Wrote shell scripts for getting the data in a TERADATA database on the mainframe environment to a UNIX environment. The data transfer was done through an NCR UNIX system to a SPARC 6000 UNIX server. The data was then loaded into an ORACLE database for further processing with shell scripts. The programs taking care of the business logic were written in PRO
  • C++. The testing was done on a SUN SPARC 6000, and the system has been ported onto a HP UX system.
  • NIS CORBA Server: Part of the team that developed the IDL interfaces for the NIS Server enabling it to communicate with other systems of the delta airlines such as tickets capture, bookings capture, automated contract entry interface.
  • NIS Server: Part of the team that designed and developed the NIS Server, which picks up the data feeds from RDO objects and populates the back end ORACLE database running on the HP-UX V-class m/c. Also responsible for the batch processes that evaluate the markets and create summaries.
  • RTB Sales Reporting Tool: This tool helps the delta reps track the performance of travel agencies. The front-end is developed in Visual C++ looks at the revenue, traffic and booking data of the agencies that the rep is concerned with. Worked on getting the data loaded into the Oracle database using PL/SQL procedures and functions.
