Description of the project: This project involves the maintenance and enhancement of Web/ViperJ -Policy Administration system in Nationwide’s Specilaity Product Division . These applications are developed using JAVA technology.

WebPOS application is the point of sale interface for Agents whereas ViperJ is the interface for underwriters and operations support.

Main scope of the project is to implement periodic rates/rules, compliance changes along with the development of new insurance forms in multiple states for both Private Auto and Commercial vehicle insurance. Also, involves occasional New product rollouts.

Environment: Java based application, nightly batch programs-AS400 applications, Windows XP/Windows 7, DOC1, Third party web services,

Testing and Agile tools: QTP, RTC, HP Quality center, Excel based premium calculation raters, SOAP UI.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and leading QA team of 12-15 members, delivering on an average 8-10 projects in a monthly release cycle.
• Main Tasks include requirement analysis, test strategizing, test cycle planning, estimation, test plan review and test execution review.
• Delegating test execution Tasks to testing team.
• Developing and maintaining excel raters(advanced vba macros) used for doing premium validation testing against 1000's of data variables.
• Coordinating with outside vendors for establishing testing workflow for web services(MVR, GIS etc) and real time rating.
• Onsite-Offshore coordination
• Conducting Show and tell and Test plan review sessions with business teams
• Maintaining and debugging automation scripts-QTP

• Delivered on an average 4 small(100 hrs testing), 2-3 Medium(300-400 hrs testing) and 1 Large(800 hrs testing) projects on monthly release basis with 100% schedule adherence.
• Established Defect RCA process using 5 Whys technique to prevent production defects and delivered projects with high quality. Achieved Defect prevention percentage of 98% on continued basis.
• Received Multiple appreciations from Nationwide management for delivering projects with excellent quality and constructive partnership.
• Collaborated on client engagement strategy to drive entry into risk-driven project methodology, improving accuracy of project definition, sizing estimates.
• Streamlined QA process to increase efficiency and reduce new product rollout time by one person week.
• Developed Various excel vba based tools for estimation,improve data review effectiveness, accurate test reporting.
• Investigated variances, performed root-cause analysis and documented corrective actions to resolve complications

ClientThe Allstate Corporation.

Description of the project: This project involves the maintenance and enhancement of INTERLINK application in Allstate. Interlink is developed using Tenfold’s Universal Application platform. It is a web based Auto and Home insurance policy administration system for independent agents and customer service representatives. The Interlink application reduces the time for agents to issue a policy, handle billing, claims and policy issues.

Interlink application involves projects and production support. The projects & support work goes through one or more of the usual software development cycle of analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and support. Projects mainly arise due to changing business requirements or compliance to state government. Production Support work may arise either due to user or system problems.

Description of the project: The objective of the project was to develop a portal to provide more complete and timely information to the Syndicators and Relationship Managers regarding the status of their accounts and the account servicing activities. The system developed was a web portal leveraging the use of webparts and Sharepoint server technologies.
