PCU - 5FG Medical Oncology/ Palliative Care Unit

• Took care of patients with complex oncology conditions and Bone Marrow Transplant patients. Served as a patient advocate, ensuring individual needs were met and concerns addressed promptly as primary, charge, and resource RN.
• Responded to patient emergencies to provide prompt and correct intervention by consulting MD, initiating RRT (Rapid Response Team) or Code Blue as required.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams through FIT (Focused Interdisciplinary Teams) rounds for optimal patient outcomes and efficient care coordination.
• Precepted/ mentored new nursing staff, fostering professional growth and team building within the unit by precepting new grad and experienced RNs.
• Participated in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care outcomes using evidence based practices and participating in projects and threat assessment subcommittee.

Prepared and delivered lectures to BSN students on Medical- surgical topics for BSN students. Developed strong rapport with students, creating a supportive learning environment that encouraged active participation and the use of multimedia tools. Supervised students when administering medications and implement nursing process in real clinical environment to ensure patient safety.
