While working at Stirling UltraCold I inherited a very poorly managed inventory. this included two warehouses with over 17 million in inventory. And an annual write off of over 300k during physical inventory at years end. At then end of my time with the company my team and Iworked to reduce this annual loss to just over 100 dollars. with those write offs being identified and production Bill of material errors. I also worked with one of our biggest suppliers to develop a VMI for all of our hardware and Consumable items. this included automated vending machines and lockers for those materials. The VMI project turned down our cost for these items by over 20% and 40k the first quarter implemented. and a overall yearly cost reduction of 6%.
