Upper School Mathematics Teacher

Teach various levels of math instructions for grades 5 through 8 Lego EV3 Robotics is taught in a way that helps students appreciate the process of mathematical discovery through a mix of collaboration and various teaching methodologies. An educational classroom atmosphere is created where students have the opportunity to fulfill their their potential for intellectual curiosity and character growth. My classes setting are mostly in small groups or around the Harness table, where all my students have a chance to speak the beautiful language of mathematics, ask questions, clear away confusion, share answers, make mistakes and learn from them, coach and support each other with respect and enthusiasm.

Some of the activities I performed with love and diligence are:

Create a unique, fun and challenging curriculum for 5th grade math class, learning "Everyday Mathematic" incorporating Lego EV3 robots

*Implement technology to enhance learning

* Create lesson plans with a variety of learning styles to meet the wide range of students needs

* Develop and implement explorative student-centered lessons for a diverse group of students

* Adapt lessons to meet individual needs by reviewing students formal and informal assessments

* Attend grade level meetings to give updates on student progress and recommendations

* Write personalized math recommendations to secondary schools on behalf of individual students

* Administrative contact for Everyday Math, including ordering all online and hard cover copies, create teacher and student online accounts

* Corroborate with math department in establishing a rigorous mathematics program

* Incorporate cross-curricular components into lessons and units, including long and short term Project-Based Learning

* Create art based math projects

* Participate in school wide and divisional meetings

* Implement active and positive classroom management strategies

Communicate with parents, via emails, phone, and newsletters on student progress and achievements

• Cultivate relationships with parents for complete support network.
• Utilize multimedia strategies and technology to convey information in fresh and interesting ways.

Meet with students three times a week, in creating a welcoming and nurturing environment to openly discuss academic and social topics. Keep active a line of communication between student, classroom teachers and parents. Advocate for the students by listening, supporting, and encouraging them anyway possible.

.* Monitor students' progress in cooperation with classroom teachers, counselor and parents

* Create and implement action plans for students in establishing a student-led proactive learning environment

* Help transitions students into the 6th and 7th Grade including guiding students to meet responsibilities associated with Upper School

* Communicate with math teachers in Lower and Upper School in receiving feedback on current math programs and the use of technology as learning tools

* Attend weekly free web seminars on iPad, Casio calculators, Lego Robotics, guide and inspire other teachers to use technology

* Attend annual National Conference of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)and other math conferences to keep abreast of new teaching techniques, methodologies, and programs
