  • As the QA / QC inspector in the refractory department, my job included the following:
  • Checked the layout for anchors, pins, and hex installation.
  • Inspected the welds according to the procedure. Including visual, ping test, and occasionally PT. Also inspected the forms used for the casting operation insuring their ability to do the job required.
  • During casting of the refractory, my duties included documentation of the Ambient conditions, temperature of water, material, and shell, to assure that it is in compliance.
  • Took samples of the material after mixing and prepared tags with all pertinent information. After ample curing time, each sample was tagged and sent, or taken to the laboratory for testing. Kept complete and accurate documentation of all job operations, and kept a log of samples sent to the lab.
  • As the QA / QC inspector in the Paint Department, my duties included the following:
  • Inspected blasted surface to assure it met the standards necessary for the coating to be applied. Took Press-O-film readings, and documented weather conditions, batch numbers of coating being applied. Monitored weather during coating application to make sure we were in conformance with the manufacturers guidelines.
  • After coating cured, I would perform a visual inspection. Any imperfections were noted, and was given to the paint foreman. Coating thickness was then checked. Any issues found were discussed with the paint foreman.
  • Copies of all documents were reviewed by third party inspectors, and put in the data book for each job.
  • Maintained accurate records of inspection results, test data, calibration activities, and other related documents.
