I started my 20 year career in the U. S. Army as a wheel and track mechanic. About 18 months into my service I was promoted to shop forman working as a SGT E5 while being a PFC E3. I earned the rank of SGT 5 and moved to Fort Riley Kansas where I was stationed from 1977-1981 where I was the shop foreman (Motor Sergeant) where I held the job of an E6 while an E5. Moving to Schweinfurt in 1981 I was a Headquarters Company Motor Sergeant held the job as an SFC E7 while an E5 for 4 months then moved into Alpha Company made the rank of E6 where I was the Assistant Motor Sergeant and then was promoted to Team Chief E7 position. I received a change of station in 1984 and moved to Fort Knox Kentucky. I earned the rank of SFC E7 and was an M1 Abrams Tank Instructor. In November of 1988 I entered the Warrant Officer Academy and completed the training and was promoted to Warrant Officer. From May 1989 till June of 1991 I was a Maintenance Chief CW2. From 1991-1993 I was the Maintenance Chief where I completed the duties of a CW3 where I was responsible for a company of 14 Bradley Fighting Vehicle's and a company of 14 M1 tanks that were used for training in 3rd ID. From 1993 -I995 I returned to Fort Stewart Georgia where I held a Caption slot class 9 Officer (Vehicle Parts) while a CW2 in a main support battalion. I remained in this position until my retirement from the U. S. Army. My responsibilities in these various positions include the following:
