Raquel Ramirez

• I am responsible for performing both screening and diagnostic mammography examinations, utilizing digital 2D, and 3D equipment. I also perform bone densitometry exams.
• I help patients feel comfortable with procedures by explaining the steps and answering questions from start to finish. I make sure to foster relationships with patients to minimize anxiety, and enhance cooperation.
• I assist with scheduling appointments and answering questions that may arise before they come in for their appointment. I prepare for each patient’s schedule by assessing their prior breast studies and verifying that they have the correct orders needed for their appointment.
• I evaluate all patient orders, and ensure that the correct referral, order, and exam are being performed for each individual patient.
• I am responsible for keeping a daily, detailed patient log. This includes updating once their results are in.
• I ensure that all patients' letters are correct, documented in the patient log, and mailed out.
• I work alongside the radiologist in performing stereotactic biopsy procedures and needle localizations.
• I interact with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care. I also assist in resolving any concerns or conflicts that may arise.
• I am responsible for performing the weekly quality control on both the Selenia Dimensions mammography unit and the Affirm Prone biopsy unit, as required by the federal and state regulations.
• Managed inventory and supplies to ensure materials were available when needed.
• Collaborated with Radiologists in the interpretation of mammograms.
• Assisted in training new staff members on mammographic techniques and protocols. I also train new staff members in learning how to perform stereotactic biopsies and needle localizations.
• Recently, I have been working alongside the prior Lead Tech to perform the following duties, aside from my responsibilities mentioned above. Including, but not limited to:

- Preparing for the facility's annual state inspection.

- Renewal process of the ACR accreditation for our stereotactic unit.

- Implementing a system for the newly implemented state-required

patient audits.

- Ensuring all of our policies and procedures are up to date and in line

with FDA regulations.

• Performed fluoroscopic exams and assisted in surgical procedures by using the C-arm.
• Reviewed image quality for accuracy before releasing images to physicians for interpretation.
