Designed switching function in logic circuits using various gates, MUXs, decoders, ROM, and PLA, allowing for circuit design analysis using larger circuit elements; allows for cost analysis. Software: Quartus, Logic Friday.

  • 7-Segment Display

Designed a four bit 7-segment decoder logic circuit, displaying numbers 0-9. Software: Quartus, Logic Friday.

  • Sequential Tail Light Controller

Implemented a sequential tail light controller (found on 1966 Ford Thunderbird & some Mustangs); including state diagram, state table, logic circuit diagram. Allowed for observation of a synchronous state machine.

Software: Quartus, Logic Friday. Hardware: FPGA Board.

  • DC Motor Modeling

Parameter identification, speed control to demonstrate and observe effects of changes on DC Motor. Software: LabView

  • Feedback Systems

Manipulated systems to observe behavioral and output responses, given a transfer function, by applying various MATLAB commands (unit step input, sinusoidal inputs of various frequencies), gaining insight on feedback systems in controls.

  • Motorola HCS12 Dragon Board Microcontroller

Implemented functions like modular programming, displaying text on LCD and activating LEDs, utilizing interrupts to observe the various functionalities contained and their usefulness to modern circuitry and design. Software: CodeWarrior.

  • TI-RSLK Robot

Manipulated robot to observe functionality in LEDs, DC motors, SysTick timer, battery and voltage regulation, control systems, FSMs, etc. Software: Code Composer Studio (C language). Hardware: TI-RSLK Robot.
