Industrial Production of N-Butanol Using Microbe.

The technology used to extract the product (n-Butanol) is acetone-butanol-ethanol fermentation (ABE fermentation).

• ABE fermentation is a process that utilizes bacterial fermentation to produce acetone, butanol and ethanol.
• The use of n-Butanol varies by geographical area but in general, it is used to make other chemicals, or used as solvent, gasoline and brake fluid. So there is huge demand for n- Butanol in the world market.
• The production of n-Butanol through fermentation method provides employment opportunities world wide.
• Produces other co- products apart from n-Butanol, those can be used economically many ways.
• Fermentation method is eco friendly, because N Butanol is readily degradable in water and readily decomposed in the air by photo degradation.
