• I worked under Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Vinod Patel as part of out patient cardiology rotation for a period of 8 weeks. Assisted in history taking and documentation, aiding and understanding Stress test, ECHO stress test, nuclear cardiac imaging, and doppler ultrasound.

• I worked under a hospitalist, Dr. Padmashri Srinivas for a period of 4 weeks. Attended daily rounds, understood operating EPIC, analyzed and evaluated hospital checklist, performed SOAP note documentation—encompassed systems-based descriptions, imaging and lab interpretation, and standard admission order frameworks, and discharge orders with medical reconciliation.

• I worked under Dr. Priya Kumaravelu, Hematologist-oncologist for a period of 4 weeks as part of outpatient clinic rotation; assisted her in documenting history of patients and followed up with all the laboratory results of follow up patients
• Had immense knowledge gained in understanding how to fill up chemotherapy/immunotherapy consent forms, order routine labs based on whether the patient receives chemotherapy or immunotherapy

I was employed at a Government hospital, in the rural town of Nanjangud, Karnataka, India, as an Intensive Care Unit Medical Officer (ICU MO) for one year and was involved in the management and provision of treatment to cases admitted to the ICU, in collaboration with the ICU in-charge of our hospital. My job as the ICU MO also involved attending virtual ICU rounds, interacting with senior consultants at a tertiary care, multi-specialty government hospital, for discussion of patients admitted to our hospital as per protocols by the Government of Karnataka for the 10-bed ICU program for all rural government general hospitals (GHs) in the state. Some of the cases were:

• Congestive heart failure, Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State, Acute exacerbation of asthma, Acute exacerbation of COPD, Lower respiratory tract infections, Trauma cases: epidural hematoma on NCCT head managed conservatively, Liver diseases such as alcoholic hepatitis, chronic liver disease with and without decompensation, and alcohol withdrawal cases/alcohol dependence, Toxicology: Paracetamol, organophosphorous, and aluminium phosphide poisoning, Snake bite, Acute gastroenteritis with severe dehydration and hypotensive shock, and Iron deficiency anemia requiring PRBC transfusion.

I was assigned duties in the ER as In-charge in accordance to duty roasters with provision of treatment to emergency cases such as:

• STEMI cases, NSTEMI cases, Acute exacerbation of COPD, HHS, Hypoglycemia, and Seizures

I was also assigned duties for the provision of treatment to OPD-based routine cases as the Outpatient Department Care In-charge, in accordance with duties as per rosters (see attachment for details), such as:

• Administration of medications for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension, thyroid disorders, medications for upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, acute gastroenteritis, anemia, administration of ARV (anti-rabies vaccine) for Category 2 dog bites, and immunoglobulin plus vaccine given for Category 3 dog bites.

• I published a research paper under a rheumatologist as a guide on the topic "Efficacy of Rituximab in Refractory Autoimmune Bullous Skin Disorders" in the Internet Journal of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in May 2025.
• I participated in an international conference, 'World Rheumatology Conference' (WRF), for a poster presentation on my then ongoing paper, 'Efficacy of Rituximab in Refractory Autoimmune Bullous Skin Disorders,' in Chennai, India, in March 2024.
• I also presented a case report of Wegener's granulomatosis at a state conference held in Mysore, Karnataka.
• Parallel ongoing work on a research article for authorship under an intensivist.

• 1 year of Internship with extensive involvement and assistance in ICU duties during Internal Medicine postings including participation in cases such as Chronic Liver Disease with Hepatic Encephalopathy, Hepatorenal Syndrome, CKD with associated comorbidities on dialysis, Toxicology- Aluminium Phosphide, Organophosphorous poisoning cases, Snake Bite and COPD with Type 2 respiratory failure on NIV

I gained additional work experience as the Casualty Medical Officer (CMO) at JSS Academy Of Higher Education And Research dealing with medico-legal cases

• Observership for a period of 4 weeks in Neurosurgery at Apollo BGS Hospital. Keen interest in Neuroscience with higher passion for Neurology ahead of Internal Medicine, with a goal to master foundations through Neuroanatomy in the department of Neurosurgery; Intensive discussions with the Neuroanaesthetist with respect to pharmaceutical drugs used for general anaesthesia; Procurement of LOR from the Neurosurgeon at the end of the Observership; observed the following neurosurgical procedures performed:
• Retro Mastoid Suboccipital Craniotomy for tumor excision of Schwanomma at the Cerebellopontine angle, Endoscopic Trans-sphenoidal approach for excision of Pituitary Macroadenoma/Craniopharyngioma, Minimally invasive Transpedicular stabilization of D11, D12, L1, L2, Fronto-temporo-parietal Craniotomy for SDH, and Fronto-temporo-parietal Decompressive Craniotomy with tumor excision and Duraplasty are some of the procedures observed.
