Accomplishments

  • After applying for a summer job from college I applied at the Arwood Corp for a position. I was hired into the casting inspection department where mI was responsible for visual inspection, Rockwell hardness checking and dimensional inspection. I did this for about 4 weeks.
  • After an opening in the casting engineering department, I applied for a lab technician position where I was hire by the Chief Engineer (Bob Stech) as a lab technician to do heat treat micro structures and various engineering assistant responsibilities.
  • The above on the job training experiences led to being promoted to a casting Engineering Trainee and then after about 2 years was promoted to a full time process engineer with responsibility of about 1/3 of the casting product within the production line as well as gating new castings that were brought in.
  • Recruited for the 1st estimating and sales communication position by site GM (George Stolze) to customers from our Arwood casting facility in Cleveland, OH as Arwood Corp phased estimation responsibilites to the individual casting sites.
  • Recruited by Bob Merry (Arwood Mid West Sales Manager) and Michael perry (VP Sales Arwood Corp) and transferred from Arwood Cleveland site March 1979 to opened midwest sales office for the Arwood Corp in Indianapolis, IN for generating new sales for rotating and non-rotating casting hardware reporting to Michael Perry, VP Sales.
  • Transferred February 1982 to Santa Fe Springs, CA to assist in coordinating new sales for the acquired ACC Casting Company.
  • First new castings on the F/A-18 C&D version for the Arwood plants out of Northrop Grumman.
  • Received 1st casting awards for the B2 bomber.
  • Was tasked to develop the Rohr Corporation in San Diego, CA and took the account from about $90K to just over $3M.
  • After acquisition of Arwood Corp / Interlake Corp by Wyman Gordon (5/14/1990), I was asked to maintain my sales support with key customers as well as to support forging contracts with key fracture critical forgings that were dual sourced with our competitors.
  • Was assigned to head sales efforts for our newly formed performance products business group from the 1994 through the 1998 time period. These efforts included a highlight of $30M in golf sales products from $0. This product line and business unit was shut down when PCC acquired Wyman Gordon in 1999.
  • After acquisition of the Wyman Gordon Company by Precision Castparts Corp (May 1999), participated in a sales meeting interview process and was asked to maintain my sales role in the Southwest region of the United States in
  • Assigned Solar Turbines to win new forged turbine disk work on both compressor and turbine disks on new LBGT engine designs for the Wyman Gordon forging sites and maintain current work portfolio.
  • I was assigned the Mid-West sales manger position and closed the Arwood / Wyman Gordon Sales Office in Brea, CA in July 1999 (at one time this office contained 1 sales manager and 3 field salesmen) and moved the sales office to a home sales office located in Lake Elsinore, Ca. This put my in a proximity to the counties of Orange County, San Diego county, LA county and San Bernardino Counties for more convenient travel times to major customers and maintained this office through early Dec 2016.
  • Maintained my southwest customer base and developed a new business relationship with Stirling Energy (Scottsdale, AZ) for vacuum engine castings for an application for "on sun" solar power generation. This product would have required PCC to build a new casting facility just for this product as sales would have eclipsed $30M/yr. After product qualification the "Sun Catcher" engine design was then cancelled by its customers due to the falling cost of photovoltaic solar panels from China.
  • Under the PCC VP Sales (Martin Quigley) with my increasing presence in the Phoenix area, I was given the responsibility of starting a relationship with key Honeywell Procurement Mangers to initiate the idea of a LTA for all of the PCC casting sites as well as assist lessons learned with the Wyman Gordon LTA.
  • Under leadership from Martin Quigley (PCC VP Sales), I transferred from Southern California to the Phoenix, Arizona area and reestablished my Southwest Regional Sales Office for PCC and Wyman Gordon early December 2016 and maintain customer's in the Southern California area through April 15, 2020.
