As a Senior Logistics Specialist at Bay Materials, I wore many hats in a warehouse setting. Here’s an overview of what each of my responsibilities entailed.

• Shipping: Prepared domestic & international freight shipments of packages & pallets using different various carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, Trump-card & Javelin based on transportation costs (whether LTL or FTL), route, delivery urgency & efficiency. Maintained accurate documentation for all shipments, ensuring compliance with international regulations to maximize delivery efficiency & minimizing potential liabilities & delivery delays.
• Receiving: Inspected inbound shipments to ensure that all items & quantity of an inbound shipment directly reflects that of its respective PO (Purchase Order). Inspected inbound shipments for any damages that may warrant a replacement or refund from the sender. Received in new items into our inventory system & stored them in their assigned bin location based on item type, model number or allocated them to their respective work orders.
• Inventory Management: Created & maintained an organized system for monitoring all warehouse materials, supplies & products. Purchased & replenished low stock items that have reached their respective minimal threshold. Conducted weekly cycle counts & quarterly audits of inventory levels (both onsite & 3PL inventory) to ensure keen accuracy & identifying discrepancies in need of resolution.
• Order Picker: Received work orders (tickets) from the manufacturing & engineering teams to pick items & raw materials needed on the manufacturing line. Received tickets from customer service to pick finished goods & products to be shipped to our clients. Received tickets from other Bay Materials sites to have items, raw materials, finished goods & products shipped & transferred internally from one Bay Materials plant to another.
• Material Handler: Salvaged excess material from products no longer in use or that have gone obsolete. Materials such as wiring, hardware components, plastics, dyes, etc that can be reused by the engineering & manufacturing teams. Collection with appropriate documentation, labeling & storage of reusable raw materials.

As a Logistics Coordinator at Amazon Web Services, I worked in a Data Center which is a highly technological environment. Here’s an overview of what my responsibilities there entailed.

• Shipping: Prepared components, assets & network/server racks to be shipped internally to other AWS Data Centers. Prepared documentation for secure asset transfers, asset tag verification, data cloud storage & data wiping. Coordinated with the Security & Assets Protection team to ensure all data center security protocols for asset transfers were followed & that assets have been approved for transport. Administering security seals & straps to ensure physical tampering of assets does not take place during transport.
• Receiving: Inspected inbound shipments to ensure that all items & quantity amounts match the request order. Coordinated with the Security & Asset Protections team in inspecting inbound asset shipments for any damages & possible asset tampering. Received in new items into our inventory system, assigned new asset tags to new assets & components, stored them in their designated bin locations or allocated them to their respective work orders.
• Inventory Management: Conducted weekly cycle counts & quarterly audits of data center assets to ensure inventory accuracy. Coordinated with other data centers logistics team members to replenish any components & assets that were low in stock.
• Order Picker: Picked & staged components, assets & media drives from work orders received by the data center technicians team, to be used for installations or parts swaps in the server rooms & computer locations (COLO’s)
• RMA: Coordinated with vendors to return defective or obsolete components & assets back to the manufacturer for replacements, credits & upgrades.

As a Delivery Station Liaison for Amazon, I served as the connecting point between delivery station operations, 3rd party DSP’s (delivery service providers) & our customers whom we were delivering to. Here’s an overview of what my responsibilities were in this role.

• Delivery Station Operations: Coordinated with delivery station floor managers to monitor the flow of sortation & staging locations of outbound packages due for same day delivery. Used sortation & staging location information to then coordinate & assign delivery routes to DSP’s.
• Dispatcher: Monitored delivery routes, provided DSP’s with up to the minute updates on customer delivery requests, traffic updates & alternative routing. Coordinated with drivers on 2nd attempt deliveries & delivery rescues.
• Customer Service Rep: Reached out & established a rapport with customers who’ve requested specific delivery accommodations. Verification of the specifications of their request as well as acquiring any additional information that would help in ensuring that package delivery is successful & that packages are left in a safe & secure place coinciding with the delivery instructions.
