I have been skating for about 2 years now, and I've enjoyed the learning process and seeing the growth that i have made along the way from barely being able to stand on the board to being able to kickflip and ollie down curbs. Skateboarding has taught me self discipline to push past fear and doubt, and trust in myself to land tricks. It has also taught me to not accept failure as the end but to get back up and try again even if im hurt and tired, just take a breath and go back at it until I've accomplished my goals.
