• I attend and lead seminars, classes and conferences in an effort to increase and share my knowledge and expertise. These include Eastern Michigan University, Macomb CCC, Monroe CCC, MSHA, MIOSHA, TRAM, Holmes Safety Association, Michigan Safety Conference, MAA Conferences and others.
• Implement compliant Dust and Noise monitoring for both MSHA and OSHA
• As a part 107 Certified Drone Operator, I assist in mapping and stockpile management.
• Developed and implemented safety training and management programs for 10 locations for both MSHA and MIOSHA General Industry. One mine and 9 Concrete and Asphalt crushing sites
• Inspected facilities for adherence to fire, hazard, and safety guidelines. Both MSHA and OSHA
• Investigated accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to address underlying issues.
• Assist with Human Resources duties for 75 employees.
• Implement and carry out all aspects fo the Substance Abuse Policy including on-site drug testing.
• Oversee Security by working with alarm and security companies to keep facilities secure and safe.
• Developed and implemented safety, security and work policies and procedures.
• Serve as the MSHA Person In Charge of ALL Safety for the Mine and as a Contractor. We are both.

• Provide MSHA Part 46 and Part 48 New Miner, Experienced Miner and Annual Refresher Training to companies state-wide in Michigan.

• Operated range of heavy equipment on regular basis in production and to maintain the mine roads, dump, yard, stockpile and pit areas.
• Equipment Operated: Cat 936-992 Front Loaders, Volvo 988 Class Loaders, Komatsu PC400-PC1100 Excavators, Komatsu 800-900 Front Loaders. Cat 140-16G Graders, Cat D6-D10N Dozers, Cat 769-777 Haul Trucks, Cat 20-45 yard Articulated Trucks, Fork Lifts, Man Lifts, Water Trucks, Ingersoll Rand DM45 Blast Hole Drill, Boom Truck.
• Production loading and stripping operations. Customer Truck Loading.
• Fusing and burring Poly Pipe up to 36" for dewatering operations.
• Train others on mine operations.
• Many special projects including building dikes and ponds, roadways, ramps, stockpiles and pads.

• Help supervise 14 Heavy Equipment and Gravel Train Mechanics including 3 Welders.
• Purchase parts for mobile equipment and plant operations for 2 mines.
• Purchase equipment and tools for Iafrate Construction Companies crews in 4 states.
• Directly supervise two small tool repair personnel who maintain tools and equipment.
• Negotiated pricing and terms with vendors.
• Purchase office and safety supplies.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.

I spent the first several months helping to operate 3 large warehouses for a 73,000,000 ton per year gold mining operation.

I moved to the mining operations in 1993.
