As I've completed my lineman college, ive got my class A CDL I've learned a lot of skills I have learned safety and how to stay safe and practice safe work I am a hurt man rescue certified as well as CPR certified I can operate a line truck I've learned how to wire a Single phase transformer , open delta transformer bank, closed delta transformer bank wye wye transformer bank and pad mounts Ive learned all my wire colors/sizes and my underground utility colors ive learned countless amounts of material, building material on the ground and off hooks Enhanced my skills on job sight hazards and situational awareness to ensure safety for me and my co-workers at line tech school Understanding every pole is set 10% plus 2 feet of its total length deep Digging holes to set a pole with shovels, post hole diggers, and also using a jetter Digging holes to splice wires using measurements, making sure not to hit any underground cables or pipes Climbing poles, transferring over obstacles using my secondary, and bucksqueeze Doing work on my hooks, ensuring proper safety, using my rubber gloves, insulating, and isolating primary and secondary voltages, as well as cable using pigs , blankets , close pins and hard covers with a shotgun stick As well as using a pogo stick to hang, open, close, and take off cutout doors off or on a cutout, and using a load break to open and close switches working everything with rubber gloves and proper PPE I have put together cross arms on the ground as well as on a pole in my hooks and also have taken them down with my hand line I have done a lot of hanging wire using my hoist and parallel grips connecting my hoist to the dead end shoe and grip to sag my wires Also setting anchors and putting together guy wire on a poleAnd so much more I have spent all 19 weeks of lineman school to study my material and learn what everything is used for , how its used and the best way to help my line tech as an apprentice
