VITA
2023.01 - Current

VITA is the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. It offers basic tax return preparation to low-income individuals. In this program, I was able to work with people from different backgrounds. I was able to inform individuals of different resources provided by the IRS. Along with that, I developed comprehensive tax preparation skills through hands-on experience. I applied my knowledge of tax laws and regulations per IRS guidelines. This ensured accurate and compliant tax filings. This program allowed me to collaborate effectively with fellow volunteers and program coordinators to enhance the efficiency of the tax preparation process.

Intermediate Accounting II

Grew knowledgeable in applying accounting principles and standards, Including, complex topics such as revenue recognition accounting for income taxes, and stockholders' equity. Developed understanding of accounting for long-term assets and liabilities. Including, property, plant and equipment. Worked with tangible assets, leases and pension obligations.

Cost Accounting

Developed an understanding of cost concepts. Including, cost behavior, cost-volume-profit-analysis, and cost allocation. Through theoretical and practical application, I acquired knowledge in cost analysis and reporting. Developed a solid understanding of the three financial statements: Income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cashflows. Acquired comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel through coursework and Practical application.

Intermediate Accounting I

Accounting I, provided me with a solid understanding of accounting principles, such as accrual accounting. I Acquired proficiency in financial statement analysis; Ability to interpret and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. I utilized this financial statements, to asses the financial health and performance of both mock and real companies. Was competent in recording accounting transactions. I became proficient in accounting software and tools, including excel.
