Work History

Office Assistant (Seasonal)

Hoodoo Ski
11.2019 - 02.2023
  • I supported Hoodoo office staff and HR Manager by efficiently carrying out several administrative and clerical duties each day, including data entry, updating office records, and interacting with guests
  • I re-worked the organizational system of staff and new/old hires the first season, various HR forms at varying stages, and paperwork that pertained to permitting- and continued to update and digitalize that system in following years
  • Aided in support of everyday office tasks for other departments, frequently orchestrating scheduling and collaboration on projects
  • It was also part of my responsibilities to use the POS system for ticketing, answer phones and answer questions or redirect, and to track down various employees on the mountain.

Horse Trainer + Sales

Hamilton Equine
01.2020 - 01.2023
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic I made a business out of a lifelong passion, training horses for both professional and amateur riders.
  • I trained animals that had never been touched and those who had had rough starts, and patiently turned them into talented show horses, dependable trail mounts and even calm therapy animals
  • Brokering for clients on both ends for buying and selling horses, networking in Central Oregon and nationally to find highly-compatible matches and set them up for long term success
  • By working for myself I learned discipline, time management, good sales practices, budgeting, setting professional boundaries, how to find creative ways to problem solve in difficult situations and how to cultivate long-lasting client relationships

Concierge

Black Butte Ranch
06.2019 - 10.2021
  • Addressed guest and homeowner inquiries with timely and professional responses via phone, email and in-person interactions.
  • Creative problem-solving during high volume times of year when communication between departments was key, and interpersonal skills helped to assist customers and colleagues in maintaining a positive guest experience
  • I took leadership by being cheery, dynamic, observant, detailed and working hard to make sure every guest and homeowner had the best possible experience
  • Maintaining an orderly office and front desk space, even and especially during times when there were staffing issues or high volumes of guests and structures were key
  • I developed many skills in hospitality; this included computer registration/management programs, maintaining accurate physical and digital records, communicating with several departments for coordination, and developing new policies to continue enhancing the guest adventures

  • Provided aid in the care of an elderly individual, who had developed severe dementia
  • As she aged, she became increasingly dependent on caregivers and family members for everyday tasks, enrichment and companionship, management of her various accounts and appointments, and for transportation
  • Scheduling doctor appointments, appropriate transportation, age-appropriate social events, offering companionship, meal preparation, assisting with daily needs to preserve health and autonomy as long as possible and acting as her ambassador
  • Every day I approached her unique complications and needs with patience, understanding, positivity and empathy to maintain quality of life
  • Established nutritious meal plans and prepared daily offerings to meet patient dietary needs.

Hobbies:

  • Weight Training- I started lifting in the gym about 6 years ago, and found the hobby a great way to meet new people, stay in great shape, and has helped me learn about the value of short and long term commitments, goals and the steps it takes to get to those goals
  • Horseback Riding- Horses have been a lifelong hobby, and I competed extensively as a youth around Oregon. As an adult I turned the passion into a business, and have professionally trained and successfully sold my own horses, as well as found success with outside client consignments. Horses are a continuing passion, though the sport is now just a hobby.
  • Hiking- Like many Central Oregonians, I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking once or twice a week year round. It's been a great way to foster connections, and meet people I wouldn't usually meet, and hiking also allows me to challenge my physical skills and mental fortitude on the more difficult trails.
  • Photography- I've been a photographer, and now a videographer, for 8 and 3 years, respectively. This creative outlet has inspired many travels, peeks into other peoples' lives and was a part of my business while I trained horses professionally.
  • Reading- Reading has also been a lifelong passion, and I find myself now mostly engaging with modern (auto)biographies, personal development, interpersonal relation books, and several of the great novelists of the 19th century
