Alumni & Rising Alumni Engagement Strategy

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of a dynamic alumni and rising alumni engagement program, fostering meaningful connections between graduates and current Upper School students.
• Partner with the Chief Advancement Officer and Senior Director of Development and Community Relations to design strategic initiatives and performance metrics that advance school objectives.
• Develop programs connecting current students with alumni for career exploration, mentorship, and guidance on college majors and pathways.
• Cultivate long-term alumni relationships by nurturing shared values, preserving institutional memory, and reinforcing their connection to the school community.

Events & Volunteer Leadership

• Direct strategy and execution of targeted alumni events, aligning them with broader school priorities to foster cross-generational connections.
• Plan and execute major all-school events, including Homecoming, Alumni Awards, Reunions, and Winterfest/Holiday Hoopla, resulting in strong alumni and community participation.
• Oversee alumni volunteer engagement, including the recruitment and coordination of class agents, advisory board members, mentors, and regional hosts.
• Engage a wide range of constituencies—alumni, current and former parents, faculty, staff, and students—to support initiatives and deepen community ties.

Communications & Brand Engagement

• In partnership with the Senior Director of Development and Community Relations, create and implement a comprehensive communications plan for alumni outreach via print, digital, social media, and the school website.
• Increased alumni visibility by launching new initiatives, such as an Alumni Honors Wall, preservation of historical archives and memorabilia, and curated alumni historical displays.

Special Projects & Operational Contributions

• Played a lead role in revitalizing the school spirit store, collaborating with parent volunteers to boost merchandise appeal, and significantly increase sales.
• Built vendor relationships and negotiated favorable terms to reduce costs and improve service delivery for alumni and community initiatives.
• Developed detailed project plans outlining timelines, goals, budgets, and staffing needs across multiple initiatives.
• Identified process improvement opportunities and collaborated with other departments to optimize efficiency and interdepartmental communication.
• Provided leadership and strategic guidance to the Parent Association for three years, supporting volunteer coordination, event planning, and partnership-building between parents and school leadership.

• Offered leadership, vision, and strategic guidance to Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) while serving on the leadership team of the Office of Campus Activities. Directly managed the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life and a Graduate Assistant.
• Guided student leaders in four governing councils and 32 recognized fraternities and sororities.
• Supervised all aspects of primary recruitment and intake procedures, ensuring maximum participation and retention through continuous evaluation.
• Improved educational programming initiatives by communicating with a variety of campus partners, such as the Counseling Center, Campus Police Department, University Housing, Multicultural Student Development, Transfer Student Services, Wellness and Prevention Services, Appalachian and Community Together (ACT), and the Dean of Students Office.
• Enhanced FSL recognition requirements by implementing the ATLAS framework, focusing on risk reduction, wellness, diversity, campus engagement, scholarship, and fellowship.
• Managed budgets exceeding $60K for the University and Governing Council, guaranteeing fair and responsible use of student funds, and activity fees.
• Developed an accountability program elevating leadership, scholarship, and philanthropy for fraternities and sororities.
