I have experience in Labor and Delivery, Caesarian Delivery, Woman's Health Emergency Departments (Obstetrics and Gynecology) and Oncology. For a year I worked at the University Hospital transfusion department administering chemotherapy to patients with various diagnosis' of cancer. It was there I was trained to use the ultrasound to obtain IV access. I continued to use this skill when I returned to the Women's Health department. I have leadership experience as a charge nurse for Labor and Delivery as well as the in the Women's Health Emergency Departments. I created a gynecology practice committed that would meet with various leaders of the department to help improve the functionality of the department and was voted chair for this committee 4-6 years in a row. I have helped with the work flow and updates of work flow in the Women's Health Emergency Department in our old building as well as the new Women's and Children's Tower. I have created a training guide specifically for our Gynecology Triage area and updated the training guide every year as needed as well as training many nurses over the years to this area, perform skills check offs on port a cath access, care and maintenance of the port a cath and medication administration using the port a cath, Trophon use, management as well as POC urine pregnancy tests and will soon perform skill check offs on nurse who have taken the Ultrasound PIV class. I believe I would make an excellent addition to your staff with the skills I have obtained and the skills I will continue to learn in your department.
