  • Worked as the nurse for the onsite Physician in a level 2 Correctional Center, which housed over 900 inmates. Assists the Doctor on a daily basis with both chronic care and acute patient appointments, as well as in office procedures. Responsible for documentation, medication ordering, lab/x-ray ordering/resulting, ordering supplies and scheduling follow up appointments as ordered by MD. Responds to medical emergencies on the compound and assesses/treats patients as required. Responsible for double checking medications ordered in chart with what has been ordered in the EMR by the Doctor, Dentist and Psychiatrist, as well as performing 24hr chart checks on all orders. Cross trained to work in sick call triaging and treating inmates following DOC nursing protocol, and to work in the pharmacy dispensing medications.
