Comply with multiple Administrative Directive/Institutional Directive for the Department of Corrections.
Directly responsible for the following:
*to search all property of individual in custody entering the institution and seizing and property disposing of any contraband and/or excess personal property which is not allowed by Directive. This includes individual in custody from new counties, writ returnees, transfers from other institutions, and parole violators.
*to dispose of and/or store and keep record of any property taken during any searches including any audio/visual equipment taken and confiscated permanently or temporarily by the Adjustment Committee.
*to mail home items that are not permitted and to keep records of list of items and home address and individual in custody' names and numbers that property is shipped for.
*to search and record property of individual in custody to be sent out with visitors during visits.
*to pick up all property left in Shift Supervisor's Office and Armory each morning.
*to issue and keep records of all state loan permits and state loan property, televisions, radios, headphones, shaver, trimmer, lamps, tablet/MP3, wedding rings, and all other personal property that requires permits. State loan fan program for our general population, which is ran during the months of June-October. The fans are spray painted and cleaned every year to maintain optimal use of the fan.
*to search individual in custody personal property for contraband whenever personal property is packed and inventoried for transfer out of the institution.
*handle all hand written requests and or complaints from individuals in custody and other departments concerning personal property.
*to store excess legal documents for individuals in custody in a secure area and schedule them in for legal exchange when requested.
* to insure that individuals in custody's master and permanent files are maintained with current and pertinent information on their belongings
Correctional Writ Officer
Oversees and participates in the transferring, medical furloughs, and court writs for Individual in Custody . Employee works independently and without supervisory direction, and must exercise discretion and use independent judgment, often facing critical, potentially violent, and complex situations. Protects the public from harm or danger. Minimizes contact between the public and offender to lessen the danger. Appropriate response may include use of firearms, and/or deadly force.
Correctional Officer

Under direct supervision performs security and custodial duties in a correctional center supervising the movements, conduct, work, discipline, recreation and training individuals in custody. Controls individual in custody from stations in cell hoses, yards, towers, dormitories, dining halls, or on work details; enforces rules of conduct, security and work standards by verbal admonishments for minor deviations or by making written reports of significant violations to superiors: enforces and maintains disciplinary, safety, sanitary, security and custodial measures.
Received six weeks of formalized preservice security training at the Illinois Corrections Training Academy; received on the job training in rules and regulations and group management; patrols yards, grounds, cell houses, corridors, and work areas; participated in structured work experiences related to managing the movements, conduct, work and discipline of individuals in custody. Escorts individuals or groups of them to work assignments; learned to maintain order and discipline in workshops and during bathing, meals and recreation; requires individuals in custody to meet standards; keeps perpetual count on their assignments. Learned to inspect quarters, facilities and work locations for unauthorized objects or materials; checks on sanitary conditions, fire and safety hazards, such as unsafe tools and equipment or machinery; learned to make reports on irregularities. Received orientation in the problems attendant with adapting and adjusting to involuntary confinement; received training in the application of modern principles and practices of building and training individuals in custody
Performing duties along with a certified police officer. Required training and qualifications are a mandated obligation. Required to attend a 40 hour fire arms training for the position. Working special events throughout the city along with any natural disasters. Could be call at any time to help out per the Chief of Police.
Operated various different break presses from an 8ft press to a 24ft press. Performed numerous job tasks daily/weekly basis. Used a metal shear to cut steel to length and width needed. Did hand fabricating which included mig welding (not certified limited capabilities), plasma cutting and punching holes in material to bolt pieces together. Spot welded product, used metal band saws, multiple measuring instruments. Used a wide variety of tools to work on machines and material to make accurate cuts, bends, and degrees. Having to be able to read blueprints and schematics to perform special orders needed. Member of the safety impact team and a union steward.
As a parts manager, I was in charge of ordering and filling orders for multiple parts/equipment. Taking phone orders from all over the world as well as locally. Inventorying stock parts on the shelf to ensure correct part numbers and skew numbers are visible. Counting and inventorying new parts that arrive keeping a running total of all in house items from various companies. When not taking orders or filling orders, I was on the sales store floor taking care of customers with their needs. Stocking shelves with new items, keep shelves faced, and help keep inventory of regular store items. In some cases I helped with gun repair. Filling out and filing paper work involved in gun sales and transfers to Illinois State laws standards.
As store manager I was in charge of the entire store operations. Scheduling employees to work all positions of the business from dining room to kitchen and delivery drivers. Ordering food, alcohol, delivery containers, and restaurant supplies. Keeping inventory daily so food cost stay low and shelves were stocked. Payed accounts for food and services that came up on daily accounts. Made sure the daily money was counted and accounted for each day before open of business and close of day.

As deli worker job duties included washing dishes, sweeping, and mopping floors. Other duties included stocking shelves, putting inventory in coolers as well as freezers, and assisting cooking. Moved up to front line helping the deli counter assisting customers. Prepared the daily food to serve on the hot table. Was moved to the bakery making various baked goods including cakes, pies, donuts, rolls, and breads. Promoted to bakery manager with duties of making the employee schedule for the entire deli. Made sure orders were fill for customers and orders filled for new product to be delivered.
