Summary

Student-centered Professor with expertise in Educational Research and Designs. My research is grounded on developmental and critical theories and explores the intersection of equity, best practices, and social justice in education. It examines how factors like school climate, student-centered approaches, and equitable and culturally relevant teaching can impact the academic achievement and experiences of marginalized students from K-12 through post-secondary education. By connecting research from K-12 to adult education, I aim to create a seamless continuum of understanding educational practices that meet the diverse needs of urban students.
