I transferred from a community college and moved away from family to pursue a bachelors in psychology. I love volunteering within the Buffalo community, its my passion.
I am a trained youth group leader in a program called Wyld life organizing games and activities for children on the West Side. I enjoy volunteering at my church as a Lector and love rowing through the West Side Rowing Club during the summer. In addition, to support myself I am employed as a waitress at Trattoria Aroma and as an assistant in the Psych Department at Buffalo State University. I remain in good standing as a tenant of an apartment on the West Side.
I have hopes to become a Therapist someday, especially in Child Play Therapy.
I am part of a young adult group at my parish, Our Lady of Hope on Layette and Grant St.'s in Buffalo NY. We are called the Oblate Young Adults, we do outreach to the community providing food for the homeless, bible studies, and organizing social events for youth in our communities. we are part of a wider organization called Oblate Associates of Mary Immaculate, here is a link with more information on our outreach vision and mission www.omiusa.org/index.php/2022/04/24/revitalizing-the-oblate-young-adult-group-in-buffalo/. I discovered a research opportunity not yet measured within psychology. Its goal is to find the relationship between feelings of guilt and shame in children who have parents with a mental illness and if this affects their self-confidence within their adult life. I have written a Research Proposal Manuscript before conducting research through the Psychology Department at Buffalo State University.
Joined a nonprofit group called Eight for World Hope to visit orphanages and schools in Jamaica to help feed and teach the children and students, as well as painted a house for a poor family .
Participated in a pilgrimage with an Oblate Mission group to see the Pope for World Youth Day
