As an intern, I learned programs that address the root causes of crime, such as substance abuse treatment, mental health services, and job training. My job was to:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing data analysis findings, informing key decision-makers of important program trends and patterns.
  • Conduct legal research, reviewed legal documents and reports detailing specific findings and recommendations that grew the program.
  • Learn about resources that can strengthen our communities to help prevent crime – for example, through evidence-based programs.
