As I stated before, I worked both as a clerk and cashier for Ogden’s. My job entailed me to create accounts create or open accounts for customers, that comes to the cleaners to drop off their laundry to be done. After the customer drop off their clothes and sign in with us, I would search the seams and the tags to see if we have barcode in these clothes before. The reason we barcode the clothing that we receive is so we can scan them to make sorting them faster if they repeat customer and as a way of identifying the clothing material and who the clothing belongs too. If not, we barcode the seam or tap as we do, then we have to sort the clothing by its material mainly wool and linen which need to be washed differently otherwise it will damage the clothing. After we’re done sorting we put them in bags in order to get picked up for cleaning, which takes a 1 to 3 days to be done.
After the clothing has been washed and delivered back to our store we would start sorting and grouping each individual pieces clothing that belong to the customer that brought the clothing in. after we finished. Grouping up the customer’s clothing, we would put them on the conveyor belt. We would wait for the customer to pick them up. Once they came to pick up the clothing we would registered them in and if they payed we would use the conveyor belt to grab their cleaned clothing and give it the customer.
Afterwards, when closing hour is near we would clean up the shop a bit such as taking out the trash, sweeping, and making sure we’re fully stocked on materials the next day. Before, turning off the lights.
