Work History

TELEMARKETER

K&B Enterprises
01.2000 - 01.2003
  • The skills I got out of telemarketing were surveying, sales, and appointment setting
  • I would get tickets they would give us for drawings that the sales team gives us to survey the customers
  • I would let them know they are in a $200 grocery giveaway drawing, then after the next day, I call the same customer and try to convince them to give me about 2 to 3 mins of their time, and there's no obligation that's the first thing I say
  • Then I walk them through the giveaway that they entered in the drawing
  • Only that they get a free shampoo in one room and hallway
  • I would say just give the salesmen some credit with a demo for future trips that are given credit
  • The sales team wanted me in their department
  • You see, I had family who worked for Kirby for about over 15 years and more
  • I got myself the experience at 11 years old doing nothing but surveys
  • My family had a office for themselves and that was the time I was eleven taken surveys and helping them get appointments which turn into sales

  • I had worked at a photography place and was in the black room printing pictures; I unrolled the film and took a look at it is in the glass vinyl to see the negatives which is the film

  • Then fitted them on a stick, which I prepared for printing in the black room
  • I also handle the register to handle transactions for customers to pay for their packets of family photos that were taken by the photographer
  • I also used the credit card machine
  • We had to switch as a team and took turns doing the front, working in the back, or in the darkroom printing out the pictures and preparing them when the clients came in to see them, and it didn't have to be the same day, so there's a little filing, answering incoming calls, taking appointments
  • A little of everything
  • The manager was nice enough to let me pick what I was most comfortable with, and that is with taking the film and placing it first in a black bag then pulling out the film from the film tube
  • Next take it to the a professional light board then you have to see the film and look for spots on the film, pics that didn't come out, and some that were messed up
  • Then we dispose of them
  • Next, analyze each picture
  • See if there are spots with a magnifying glass
