My name is Renson Jefry Joseph, also known as Jefry Joe. I was born on September 17th, and I am a civil engineer and entrepreneur in the fields of construction and architecture. I am the founder and owner of CREA – Construction, Renovation, Studies, and Architecture – a company based in Haiti with the mission to contribute to the country’s infrastructure development.

Job Description:

As the Founder and Lead Civil Engineer at CREA, I oversee the full lifecycle of residential and infrastructure construction projects, from initial design through execution and delivery. My work focuses on delivering sustainable, resilient, and culturally inspired architectural solutions tailored to the unique needs and topography of Haiti.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Design:
    Develop conceptual and technical drawings for private residences and infrastructure projects, integrating rustic Haitian architectural elements with modern structural standards.
  • Site Supervision & Execution:
    Manage on-site construction teams and subcontractors, ensuring that all work complies with design specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and project timelines.
  • Structural Calculations & Estimating:
    Conduct quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and structural analyses to optimize material use, budget efficiency, and long-term durability.
  • Collaboration with Local Artisans:
    Incorporate locally crafted elements into project designs, supporting Haitian artisans and promoting cultural identity through construction.
  • Sustainable Development:
    Promote the use of local materials and techniques adapted to the terrain, especially in mountainous or remote regions, where accessibility and logistics are major challenges.
  • Client Relations & Consultancy:
    Provide professional guidance to clients from project conception to completion, including architectural consultation, material selection, and renovation planning.

Achievements:

  • Successfully led the design and construction of multi-level residences in rural and urban areas of Haiti.
  • Designed and supervised a community project involving 15 handcrafted furniture pieces made by local artisans.
