Ÿ Successfully fabricated polyimide (PI) membrane with 248 nm excimer laser photolithography and analyzed it using SEM and optical microscopy.

Ÿ Developed fast and organic-solvent free process for fabrication of pH responsive membranes – reduced fabrication time from over 3 hours to 40 seconds.

Ÿ Studied grafting of polyacrylic acid on polyimide membrane using laser induced free radical photo polymerization and characterized using ATR-FTIR, microscope, TGA and SEM.

Ÿ Examined effect of monomer, crosslinker, laser parameters for effective grafting of polyacrylic acid on polyimide membrane to achieve linear drug release profile.

Ÿ Simplified ablation and grafting process by eliminating use of multiple setups.

Ÿ Functionalized carboxylic acid in membrane by immobilization of glucose oxidase enzyme to develop glucose responsive membranes having potential application in drug delivery device for diabetes treatment.
