  • From the very day that I got the job, I gave it 100%. Although not the best job, I knew it would be a good start.
  • Through-out the months I had worked there, I would end up serving nearly 30,000 people through the lobby and drive-thru combined.
  • I brought my locations average speeds of 3.2 seconds per order down to 1.4 seconds in my third month.
  • Even when the crew was a mess, I would do my best to work with them and if that failed, I'd multi-task the orders, cash, cleaning, and beverage making as to speed up the work flow and make sure we weren't backed up.

  • My freshman year I took a week long course where we took quizzes on different ladders in order to be able to determine which type of ladder should be used in different environments, each quiz you scored a 90 or above on would give you a certification, saying you a qualified to use ladders in the electrical field.
  • At the beginning of my sophomore year, we took a two week long course on OSHA, where on the final day, we were tested on our knowledge from the lectures we were given on OSHA and if we got an 85 or above, we got our OSHA 10 certifications.
  • Shortly after our OSHA course, we went to an empty shop classroom and practice putting together and taking about scaffolding. If we were able to do so successfully on our own, we gained a scaffolding certification.
  • Throughout the rest of sophomore year we worked in studded booths, doing residential wiring concepts all while being lectured on commercial wiring which we moved onto at the end of the year and continued it into junior year.
  • Junior year we continued hands on work with residential wiring and commerical wiring lectures.
  • Senior year we moved onto control wiring which is what powers things such as escalators, convey belts, and traffic lights. We used wooden boards with push buttons and control switches, sometimes relays. We had to follow the diagrams exactly otherwise one small mess up such as a loose wire would cause a setback that became more and more tedious to deal with as we got harder diagrams.
