  • In my role, I innovate, develop and implement a diverse and cohesive arts & culture programming for the members and the community at large. Create, execute and communicate philosophy and vision of the cultural arts through work with staff, program users, lay leadership as well as partner agencies and organizations.
  • Develop and cultivate and maintain partnerships both internally and externally. Collaborate internally with departments such as Special Needs and Inclusion, Fitness, Community Programs, Gan Ami, and Kidscenter. And collaborate externally with outside organizations such as the Jewish Museum Milwaukee, CJL, HERC, Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee Art Museum, Museum of Wisconsin Art, and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, among others.
  • Build Partnerships and collaborations with artists from all over the world. Both for art exhibits, virtual and in person programming.
  • Work to create community led art programs that allow for local community to participate in and exhibit artwork. Build community pride by promoting and sharing these artists.

  • Steward company donors by working and connecting with companies during events and programs.
  • Oversee performances within the JCC. Shepard artists to come to Milwaukee and work with our JCC. Communicate with managers, artists, tech crew, etc to ensure the right environment for artists and programs.
  • Hire, collaborate, and supervise local tech crews, installation crew, and run crews for live performances and in person exhibits.
  • Participate in and lead professional development programming for staff throughout the JCC.
  • Co-chair of the Justice, equity, diversity, and Inclusion committee. Develop the work that supports our JEDI covenant and begins to create a workplace, workforce, and community that is JEDI strong.
  • Lead All Staff Communication meetings. One of a three staff person team that was selected to lead all the staff communication meetings. My area of expertise is Jewish Learning, highlighting staff accomplishments, and connecting staff to ourside organizations that support similar missions.

Coalition for Jewish Learning: 2009

Develop and teach workshop to 7th-12th grade students. Work with archive materials at the Milwaukee Jewish Museum. Coach students in first-person and research the archives to write powerful and expressive monologues. Develop, rehearse, and perform monologues the museum. The students’ performance runs on continuous loop at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee as part of the Jewish Lens Exhibit May-July 2010.

Maple Dale School: 2012-2019

Work with this show for 7 years in various capacities, including co-director and acting coach for 3rd – 8th grade actors in annual school musical. Oversee acting coaching of main cast and chorus members. Teach, supervise and lead student tech crew. Since 2017, work in partnership with First Stage Theatre Academy and coordinate the student show crew and teach a class in theatrical design and technical theater for the students interested in show crew.

Classes Taught

  • Voice and Speech I for the Actor: This is the beginning voice class for the BFA program. Taught basic physiology of the voice and IPA vowels for correct pronunciation on stage. Used the Skinner book, Speak with Distinction but modified it for standard American speech. Coached monologue work with actors.
  • Voice and Speech II for the Actor:Taught IPA consonant sounds for correct pronunciation on stage. Worked with monologues throughout the semester. Taught basic relaxation and breathing techniques.
  • Voice and Speech III for the Actor:Taught the Kristin Linklater technique. Worked on relaxed breathing and support. Worked with monologues, both contemporary and classical, and scene work to utilize the techniques.
  • Voice and Speech IV for the Actor:Continuation of the Kristin Linklater technique. Focused on forward placement of the voice, removing physical obstacles from speech and responding in the moment.
  • Voice and Speech V for the Actor:Advance voice class for B.F.A. students. Teach Kristin Linklater technique with focus on application of the natural voice technique to text work with contemporary and classical texts.
  • Voice and Speech VI for the Actor: Dialects: Dialects for the actor. Teach students dialect work using the Blunt text. Use IPA to teach vowel replacement and consonant sounds. Utilize text work to work on melody and rhythm of different dialects. The semester class covers Standard English, Irish, American Southern, and Brooklyn. Also includes a brief section where the whole class works on Zulu for African American Students.
  • Directing: Fundamentals of directing class. Teach text interpretation and analysis, staging, composition, givens, casting, and working with actors. Class culminates in students directing scenes from a full-length play, or a 10-minute play.
  • Children’s Theatre: Teach both Undergraduate theatre and Graduate in Education students. Course carefully divided into three sections: In Creative Drama class explores exercises for various ages and goals and expected outcomes; Storytelling worked with children’s texts and examined different ways to make storytelling active and interactive; and in Performance students study various Children’s theatre plays and examine why they work. Class has both a storytelling project and a final performance of a children’s theatre piece that the class develops, writes, and performs.
  • Vocal Coach: Train and coach individual actors for specific roles in productions including dialect work. Work with full casts giving vocal notes for productions.
  • Dialect Coach: Work with individual students, teaching them correct dialects for work in the main stage and studio seasons.
  • Senior Seminar: Work with graduating seniors to develop and execute their senior thesis work. Include Stage Management project, Musical Theatre Performance, Stage Combat, Scene-work, Monologues, and Spoken Word Performance.
  • Classical Voice and Text for the Actor:Develop and teach workshop focusing on vocal exercises, classical speech, and understanding and communicating Shakespearean and classical text.
