I affirm that the Holy Scriptures—both Old and New Testaments—are the verbally inspired, infallible Word of God. They serve as the supreme and authoritative guide for faith and daily living. Within them is everything necessary for understanding how to love God and love one’s neighbor (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:3, 20–21). Because Scripture alone is sufficient for all aspects of ministry, I hold that expository preaching and teaching is the most faithful method of proclaiming God’s truth.
I believe that salvation from God’s righteous judgment is offered to all humanity. It is received solely through personal faith in the atoning death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation is not earned, but is the gracious gift of God, extended to those He chose before the foundation of the world (John 15:16; Romans 8:28–30; 9:14–18; Ephesians 1:4).
I affirm the baptism of believers by immersion in water, which symbolizes our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. I also believe in the observance of the Lord’s Supper as a biblically commanded and symbolic act of remembrance and testimony for the Church throughout this present age (I Corinthians 11:23–31).
