I began my career in health care almost 20 years ago. I have worked in various areas in a hospital setting such as, a registered nurse on a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit, Cardiac Step-down unit and ICU during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. As a house supervisor , I currently maintain the flow of patients throughs out the hospital, handle patient and employee complaints and act as hospital administration after hours covering multiple units. Through relationship building, I have been able to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice as a clinical nurse manager by coaching and motivating team members to increase operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. I have learned over the last twenty years that delivery of patient-focused care requires that we provide care in a particular way, not just sometimes or usually, but always. It must be every patient, every time.
