Work History

Sr. Research Scientist

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University
Camden, USA
06.2023 - Current
  • Neuroscience and Immunological Study: We have developed a 3D brain model to study subarachnoid hemorrhage, effectively replicating key aspects of the human brain
  • Our research also investigates the TRPV4 protein's role in regulating Ca2+ influx after SAH injury, along with the connections between microglial activation, TLR4, and Lck/Yes novel tyrosine (LYN) kinase signaling in stroke and Alzheimer's mouse models
  • Our flow cytometry-based analysis of brain macrophages and myeloid cells in SAH and Alzheimer's is published in the following journals:
  • Experimental skills: Multi-color Flow Cytometry
  • 3D brain model
  • Multiplex-ELISA
  • Human CSF samples
  • Stereotaxic Surgery
  • Confocal Microscopy
  • Immunostaining
  • ELISA
  • In-vitro and ex-vivo translational assays using primary human cells and tissues
  • GeoMX, NanostringDSP (next-generation sequencing data analysis)
  • Grant Writing
  • Manuscript preparation
  • Graduate supervision
  • Records Management
  • Mouse colony management

Postdoctoral Researcher

Florida Atlantic University
Boca Raton, USA
05.2021 - 06.2023
  • Stroke/ SAH/ Glioblastoma/ Immunology: Microglial TLR4 is critical for neuronal injury and cognitive dysfunction in SAH
  • After inducing SAH in mice, we noted significant differences in microglial activation in wildtype knockout mice compared to cell-specific and global TLR4 knockout mice, this activation causes excessive production of proinflammatory mediators and increased expression of costimulatory molecules leading to neuroinflammation
  • Findings have been published as follows:
  • Experimental skills: Research Supervision
  • RNA Isolation
  • QRT-PCR
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Histochemistry
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Western Blotting
  • Cardiac perfusion
  • Stereotaxic Surgery
  • Brain cryosectioning
  • Paraffin Sectioning
  • Literature Reviews
  • Manuscript preparation

Postdoctoral Researcher

Louisiana State University
Baton Rouge, USA
11.2019 - 05.2021
  • Immunology and Infectious Diseases: During my postdoctoral research at the Department of Pathobiological Sciences at Louisiana State University, I examined the roles of T-cells and B-cells in a dust-mite-induced bronchial asthma mouse model
  • Additionally, I explored the effector and memory functions of T-cells in influenza-infected mice and investigated the involvement of mitochondrial metabolic proteins in immunoregulation, identifying their role in chronic colitis through T-regulatory cell biology studies in mice
  • The results from our flow cytometry and ELISA analyses have been published as follows:
  • Experimental skills: Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)
  • ELISA
  • Multiplex-ELISA
  • Western Blotting
  • Genotyping
  • Multi-color Flow Cytometry
  • FlowJo
  • FACSDiva
  • Graphpad Prism
  • Manuscript preparation

Research fellow

Chiba University
Chiba, Japan
10.2018 - 09.2019
  • Microbiology and Immunology: Working as a research associate at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Chiba University, Japan, we investigated the role of sulfated glycans in lymphocyte homing and successfully identified the genes that regulate the high endothelial cells (HEC) by single-cell RNA sequencing using the following techniques:
  • Experimental skills: RT-PCR, qPCR, ELISA, Western Blotting, Flowcytometry, CHO-culture, Expression vector construction, DNA-RNA isolation, and Sequencing data analysis
