As a recent honors graduate of George Mason's Creative Writing program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), I am looking for the opportunity to be part of a growing organization helping in the publishing, content creation, and editorial space.
While working my way through college and continue today, I am an enthusiastic team member at Barnes and Noble where I maintain an orderly store and keep shelves properly labeled. I have strong customer service and sales skills backed up by strong product knowledge. I am friendly and skilled at engaging professionally with talents in customer engagement and issue resolution.
Stories have always been not only my escape, but my strength to see the good in the world when everything around me continued to either change or become dark. For reading and writing fantasy, the genre allowed me to challenge my imagination and test my skills of how far I could think outside the box. In my writing, I want to give a reader a world that not only they could believe in, but wish to experience as well. With entering the world of mysteries, guided by literary heroes such as Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, my mind is tested once again, this time on listening, observation, and the ability to see through lies and falsehoods; the box expanding once more by creativity and problem solving.
Reading these stories as voraciously as possible, I could immerse myself into a book and never need to come back up for air for a whole day. The pages in my hands are my adventures, and the characters I meet are my allies and friends, who teach me life lessons I carry with me throughout my days. Because of these experiences, I want to be able to be in a position where I can give readers the same satisfaction as I receive when I'm given a new book, or a blank page to write on.
