  • My duties as a Solar Technician were troubleshooting and repairing
  • I would also keep up with preventative maintenance using Infra-red cameras and a UE system ultrasound device and utilizing them inside our substation
  • Equipment i troubleshot were disconnect boxes, solar modules and Sungrow inverters
  • I used my newly acquired knowledge and certifications to observed and document any changes in our substation as well
  • I also became knowledgeable with SCADA and the programs to monitor and read the information.

  • I lead a crew of 15 + to tear off and install new modules
  • I was the lead of operations during crane days to fly off old and fly up new modules
  • I also operate the forklift to unload new modules and load up the old modules onto semi-trucks
  • I've learned the process of tracing strings in the combiner box before tearoff; and learned the plug and play process once the new modules have been installed
  • Every company has a preferred method of wire management, and I'll do it to their preference
  • I have recently acquired knowledge on a solar farm, with First Solar as a contractor
  • I was trained how to troubleshoot and how to read the VOC's
  • For example, the voltage to the solar panels individually, fuses in the combiner boxes,whip checks and lastly to the branch connectors; all with multimeter
  • I've recently obtained knowledge on how to change the motor for the 'Nextracker'.

  • Here i learned how to run duct through the raptures, installed fire trap vents in the restroom and ran vent pipe as well
  • Used a sawsall to cut the vent pipe
  • I would also apply fire retardant caulk following code
  • I also fabricated dampers and installed them after fabrication

  • I would bend conduit from ½ in
  • To 3 in
  • And would run it from electrical panels to and from oil wells
  • I would operate the pipe bender, dig underground to run ½ PVC pipe and terminate the ESD (EmergencyStopDevice) for single to quad well pads
  • This includes terminating gauges and combiner boxes as well.
  • Also i ran cable through the pipe we installed
  • I had access to company-vehicles and credit cards.

  • I also learned how to read certain blueprints; for example mc wire and oso cord wire pull sheets.I can also setup a temporary lighting transformer

  • Gulf stream gave me the oppurtunity to really grasp the role of lead and my father taught me to master the forklift
  • 10K to 30k forklifts
  • We unloaded the wind turbines in sections off ship coming in from overseas
  • With either walkie talkies or hand signals to flag the crane operator who was flying them off the ship onto the dock with awaiting trucks
  • I would also use the forklifts to lift up my crew members on a man basket to take off what they call 'feet' and 'Lifting eyes' from which ever section we were loading/unloading
  • We also communicated with the transportation truckers with the loading section.
