With two successful seasons at DFPC, I am well-prepared to assume the role of Grand Junction Deputy Center Manager. The training and experience gained during my tenure have equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this position. Dedication and expertise are sure to contribute significantly to the ongoing success of DFPC at the Grand Junction Interagency Dispatch Center.
Throughout my tenure, I have completed twenty-three Incident Action Team (IAT) Courses, as well as L-381, D-311, D-312, S-290, S-270, S-260, S-261, and several other training programs, all of which can be verified through IQS/IROC and Resource Chief Rose Long
**Initial Attack Dispatch Responsibilities: **
- Manage resource statuses by placing them in inactive status (INAC) and retrieving resources from INAC as needed.
- Share on-call responsibilities with other permanent staff when needed.
- Regularly update essential documents, including the Dispatch Operating Guide (DOG), Dispatch Checklist, and Continuation of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Generate various reports for equipment, crews, overhead, and aircraft within the Interagency Resource Ordering Capability (IROC) to enhance resource tracking efforts.
- Demonstrate the ability to function effectively in high-pressure emergency situations while making sound operational decisions.
- Utilize initiative, judgment, and resourcefulness to select, interpret, and apply various guidelines, resolving problems and conflicts as they arise.
- Review incident cards making sure they are all filled out correctly and that all information is being documented within the incident logs and orders are being created in a timely manner to get sent out.
- Complete end of shift briefing for dispatchers to know what has been done or needs to be done for the next operational period.
- Attend area daily briefings for situational awareness and gather information and pass along any plans for the day.
